Amariah may not have gotten to dress up for trick or treating but she did get to dress up other times. Waylon found a Batman costume for Jotham on sale that Amariah wanted to wear, she was super cute twirling her cape around. We also introduced Amariah to hide and seek - she loves it. Now she asks, "Hide, week, 1, 2, 3" - so cute! She's also got her pj's on herself on day, though there was a little mix up. Amariah and Jotham playing nicely together. It took until November but we finally had out first snow, at least where there was enough snow to play in a bit.
Amariah was asking for a while to go to her friend Grace's house and play in her basement, so one evening we got to do just that. It is a pretty fun basement with the rope ladder, swings and mini trampoline plus other fun things. The girls (and Jotham) had lots of fun playing. Amariah got to wear her elephant costume and didn't stop there, she also needed to try her chicken and Tigger costumes. She also did some fun bubble wrap art, she was very careful at first not to get too messy, though she did get into it a bit more later.
Waylon is now a member of SLUG (Saskatchewan Lego User's Group). Each year there is a craft show in town so they asked if they could set up a Christmas themed lego display. It was a huge favourite for everyone, and was the front page picture of all 3 newspapers in town that week. Waylon had some more vacation time to take, so we took it the last week of November, our first plan was to move Amariah to a toddler bed. Here she is her last night sleeping in her crib (which I just barely remembered to take her picture or she would have been in there another night). And getting ready for her last nap in her crib.
Last nap and then it was time to take down the crib and build her new bed. Jotham and Amariah both had turns helping. Her first night in her toddler bed. She did a great job sleeping there.
While we were at the first winter farmer's market in the mall Amariah got to ride the little carousal. Then it was time to take out our Christmas tree to decorate it. It was lots of fun decorating with the kids. Jotham even made his own ornament out of lego for the tree.
We decided to go on a little trip to Winnipeg while Waylon was off. We started off with Amariah getting her car seat turned around, she was pretty excited that Daddy turned her seat "this way". We were hoping the kids would sleep on the way since we got up early, but Amariah didn't fall asleep until just before we stopped in Brandon for an early lunch. We walked around the mall to stretch a bit and then were back on our way. Amariah's little nap was enough that she didn't nap again until just before we got to our hotel, so while the boys brought in our things I stayed in the car with her and took her picture. I finally got some good pictures of the kids in their Harvard and UFV gear before Jotham's needed to be put away since it's getting small.
The first night we just stayed at our hotel. We even had supper there since we were feeling done with driving. After supper we went swimming in the pool. The next morning we headed to Ikea for breakfast and some shopping. Conveniently the one big thing I was hoping for was on a black Friday sale so we picked up a chair (thankfully its in a small flat box to assemble later). While Amariah napped in the afternoon Jotham and Waylon went on a tour of the mint. Jotham had a lot of fun, and we had time for a quick swim before our supper plans. That evening we had supper with one of Waylon's Aunts, it was good to visit with them since we hadn't seen them for a few years. The next morning we checked out and went to Waylon's cousins for brunch. They have boys Jotham's age, they had fun playing lego and some games together. We had gotten tickets for Peter Pan at the Young People's theatre when we discovered that Fred Penner was in it. I was a little unsure how Amariah would do watching a live play, but she did great (with the help of a few goldfish crackers). She loved the dog (Nanny), and Tinker Bell - which they used colourful lights for. When Tinker Bell popped out of a box Amariah whispered "wow". Jotham says his favourite part was when the crocodiles would tick - that meant the crocodiles were in the water and hungry. We spent the next two nights with friends who moved to Winnipeg a year ago. Jotham is in between their two boys ages so they played pretty well together just like they used to. Amariah is a year younger than their daughter, they did pretty well playing together too. It was so good to visit with them, play games and reconnect. Once we got home it was time to build our new chair - Amariah was excited to help, and both kids were ready to cuddle with me in it.
Once we were home it was time to get the Advent calendar's ready. Amariah was super excited to get duplo in her's, she loves them so much she wanted to sleep with them.
