The rest of Summer

The last month of summer we kept busy with all sorts of fun. Playing at the park, naps, cuddles with friends, running through the sprinkler and celebrating our 13th anniversary was part of our fun (Jotham took the last two pictures, we decided to crouch down after the first picture when he said "I might not have gotten your heads" after we asked how it looked).
We also went to the beach before school started up, Jotham informed us it wasn't really summer break unless we went to the beach, so we snuck that in 2 days before school began. It was a lot of fun, and we even managed to leave before the storm started.
Jotham on his first day of grade 2! The next weekend was family camp so the kids helped me bake a dessert to bring along. The wrap makes bedtime while camping so easy. Amariah got to go kayaking with Waylon, Jotham went canoeing with him and some friends as well but I didn't get pictures since it was nap time.
Amariah got a new princess dress for her birthday, she loves it. We also discovered how much fun it is to make piles of leaves to jump and play in. One morning we went for a walk all bundled up since it was so cold, but by the afternoon Amariah was eating a freezie while sitting on her trike.
We also had some playhouse fun, playing peekaboo through the windows and doors. And enjoyed some free mcdonald's mini ice cream cones. Jotham is always buys building some kind of fun lego creation. In the middle of September my parents came for a visit. Amariah needed to hold both of their hands to walk into the library.
We had lots of fun with my parents here. Amariah loves her mei tai that Grandma made her to carry her dolls in, and she had fun playing animal memory with Grandpa. She even got Grandpa to brush her teeth before bed a few times (she tried to get him to change her diaper but he said that was Grandma's job). We also celebrated Waylon's birthday while they were here.
Waylon's birthday is (usually) the last day of summer and this year it was a beautiful day. We skipped Amariah's nap after church so we could have the warmest part of the day outside. We went for a walk to the park and played for a bit. Amariah fell asleep for a little while in her stroller, but then I ended up pushing that while she took her favourite spot between Grandma and Grandpa for the walk home. Waylon even got his own birthday tweedies.
Their last day here Grandma went to help Amariah during her nap and managed to get her back to sleep. The next morning they were on their way back home, it was fun to have them here. Even though it was just barely fall we had quite the leaf pile in the yard. After raking it up and jumping in it a few times, the kids helped Waylon stomp it into the garbage can.
more fall adventures to come soonish....
