July began with Waylon heading off to Ottawa for a work conference so the kids and I went to the Canada Day fun on our own. We made sure to send pictures to Daddy of our fun outfits and cute face paintings. Amariah was a fan of the cotton candy and snow cones. She was thankful to have a sweet friend share her snow cone with her.
Waylon arrived in Ottawa on Canada Day so had fun checking things out. He even met a Paralympic medalist in his travels, and stopped by the mint later in his trip and got to hold a brick of gold.
Jotham thought Amariah looked like a college girl in the first picture. She continues to get stuck in her clothes as she insists on getting herself dressed. One morning she ran to me with a glove on one hand and a cape for me to help her get on. Once it was on she proudly announced "I ready!" We were a day late but she wore her stars and stripes for her American cousin so we sent him (his mom) the pictures, he said in response "Aww Amariah does love me". Amariah asked, "Baby up" so I found wrap piece for her to wear her dolls. Love it!! Jotham was busy working on a lego surprise for Waylon while he was gone.
Amariah's first toe nail polish, she wanted it off pretty quick after but I got her to keep it on for a little while. More places Waylon went. Enjoying some ice cream on our last night on our own. Daddy's home and he brought presents. Amariah was happy with her tea set, and for the next few days she kept bringing it to the spot where they first had a tea party to play with it.
Jotham was excited about his ninjabread men so the next day we used it for making an eggnest. Amariah and Eliana having a car wash since the cars we're borrowing were to dirty for Amariah (she refused to sit it them- but now loves them). Oma and Opa came to visit and the kids had lots of fun with them. Amariah only wanted Oma to help her with things within a couple minutes of them arrriving, I heard a lot of "No, Oma" if I tried to help her. Amariah was so excited when her cousin Paxton arrived and loved getting to hold him. The kids all had lots of fun playing together. Amariah even managed to sleep in one morning.
Kite flying with Opa
Amariah having more cuddles with Paxton. We went on our annual mini golf trip with Oma and Opa, this time with Chris and Nicole and the kids too. We had the course to ourselves for quite a while so just let the kids go where ever. Jotham played a real game with Opa and Daddy and by the end Nadiya joined them too.
Amariah's first attempt at mini golf
Kivryn loved Amariah's doll, so the two worked at sharing her. Jotham had fun climbing through the monkey bars at the park. We set up the tent and the big kids and dads slept out there with them one night. Jotham and Waylon stayed in it an extra night. We read lots of stories, this was storytime with Uncle Waylon / Daddy.
We went to Roche Percee with Chris and Nicole and co. The kids had lots of fun climbing and walking the paths. Kivryn even climbed up the rock all by herself.
We had to bring them to Nature Smarts at the park since it's one of our favourite summer programs. And it was shirt painting day! So much fun. They loved picking out there free book too. Jotham finally got a turn holding Paxton, he was happy about it until his sister's joined them as we attempted to get a picture of them all. Waylon eventually got a turn with Paxton too, even got some smiles while trying to scare away Paxton's hiccups. Amariah trying to sneak in a kiss while I was holding Paxton. And me and Paxton after getting him to sleep.
It was so nice to have Waylon's family out. Jotham and Amariah loved having a chance to get to know their cousins more and we enjoyed spending time with everyone too.
