After a wonderful sleep and some tampoline fun at Grandma and Grandpa's, we were ready for our first full day in the wonderful land of BC. We were super excited to have a chance to visit with our friend Kim who was moving just a couple days later. It was so good to see you Kim! After lunch we headed out to Waylon's parents place where the rest of the family joined us for the afternoon. We had a good time visiting with them.
The next morning we were off to the big city and spent a few days with Tim and Charlotte. Amariah had a couple first's while were there, including first bus ride and first skytrain (or in this case Canada Line which isn't in the sky at all). We thought of taking the sea bus too but by that time all the kids were pretty done. Amariah made sure to hold on tight while we were moving. We had fun walking around the waterfront and finally got to see the Olympic cauldron. We got to see a few planes landing and taking off in the water too. Amariah enjoyed sleeping in with Daddy in the morning and having some time to play with Myra.
The next day after a low key morning of indoor play we decided to take the kids to the water park. We found one pretty close by that sounded fun so off we went. Crystal had come over for lunch and was happy to join us on our adventure. Amariah missed out though and napped the entire time we were there (she needed it). We enjoyed a delicious super with friends (and family), James and Rosanna and Katie came to join us. Amariah and Katie are only a week a part, it was fun seeing the two of them together. Amariah wasn't in the happiest of moods but we did get them to smile for a picture at least. The next day we headed out to visit the other Froeses and started our time there with a trip to the beach. That evening the rest of my family joined us there for supper, but I have no pictures of that, guess we were just having too much fun.
The next morning we went to Chris and Nicole's for a while. Got a tour of their new (to them) house and property. We went to the park in the afternoon and then went back to Jon's once they were home from work and daycare. We had some fun with playdough and outside in the yard. One thing Jotham wanted to do while in BC was go on a hike, so the next morning we hiked up Teapot Hill with Ang and the kids. As we've explained to Jotham, Teapot is a hill in BC but people in Saskatchewan would call it a mountain. We had lots of fun searching for teapots people have hidden along the trail, the kids were so excited each time we found one. And they all did a great job hiking, Amariah even had a nap.
We continued our fun day with water on the trampoline and the slip in slide. All the kids had so much fun.
That evening we went out to Party in the Park. Waylon and I enjoyed some delicious Indian food, some of the best butter chicken I've ever had. The kids had fun in the bouncy castle and decorating and eating cookies. Two cute little boys turned into Batman while we were there and Amariah did an amazing job staying still to get a flower painted on her.
We had a fun round of mini golf for the kids before heading back. It was a lot of fun partying on a Friday night. Jotham and Waylon snuck out for a treat and Tim Horton's while the other kids were getting into bed. Amariah had a quick cuddle with Jon and Ang before she was off to bed. The next morning Daddy and Jotham thought it'd be fun for Amariah to try on Lynnea's tutu.
We were pretty busy the first week week, sleeping at four different places (two for just one night each), visiting with all our family that week (mostly our siblings since our parents had visited us earlier in the summer). It was a lot of fun and there was still more fun to be had...
