We continued to have fun doing new things while Grandma was visiting us and Daddy was off in Mexico. Amariah had pigtails in her hair for the first time - she seemed happy with them. Grandma was busy sewing an apron for Amariah, her first try sewing an apron with ruffles, and we made jam for the first time. Jotham had requested we make strawberry jam before Grandma even arrived so we made sure do make some.
Amariah always loves to show off the cute outfits we put her in. Grandma chose her Sunday clothes - the same dress she wore for her dedication. Jotham was a good helper and tried on the apron - even though he doesn't like purple.
The day Waylon came home Jotham and Grandma were busy in the kitchen once again making farmer brownies and tweedies- two of Daddy's favourite treats (mine too). Amariah tried on her apron, its a bit big now but will be perfect in a year or so. Daddy arrived home just in time for supper, but we got distracted with opening some gifts from him first. The boys now have poncho's to keep warm in and Daddy got Amariah a couple Mexican dresses. The hat she is wearing was made just for her by one of the pastor's wives Waylon's team was working with. We weren't sure how Amariah would react to not seeing Daddy for 10 days but she warmed up pretty quick and was laughing and eating his nose within half an hour of him being home.
Amariah finally got to try her first solids - some homemade rice cereal. She was definitely interested in trying it but hasn't cared too much about anything since then.
Jotham's class has been learning about inuit art and they had a soap carving day planned. Jotham was going to be missing that class so we got to do his carving at home. He and daddy looked at the carvings Jotham had already seen in class and then they got to work on Jotham's muskox. Jotham drew the shape onto the soap and did all the carving himself with a few pointers from Daddy. He did a great job!
Grandma wanted an updated family picture so she took one of us the last evening she was here. The next day we were off to the city to bring her to the airport. We had a great time having her here, it was so nice to have her help out while Waylon was away.
Life is now back to normal, Daddy has story time with the kids and makes duct tape crafts with the youth (Amariah's bow)...
