Christmas

Jotham and I finally got our act together and made peppernuts just a few days before Christmas. The good thing is this way we at least still had them to eat on Christmas day. They sure are delicious. On Sunday we had the kids program, this is Jotham's class practicing. Jotham didn't do much during the practise but he did even less during the actual program. We were not very impressed with him, he knew the song and actions he just didn't feel like doing it - so he got to apologize to his teacher after church. (She of course wasn't concerned at all, we were probably the only ones that it mattered to). Amariah wore a cute borrowed dress to church. Jotham picked out her headband and flower. Amariah rolled from her back to her tummy on Sunday evening after her bath, apparently rolling is easier without a diaper or clothes. 

On Christmas Eve day we build our gingerbread barn - Jotham likes to build different things. We even have hay bales on the side with snow on them. No animals though, guess they're all inside the barn staying warm, it is -20 out.

 Amariah's are hand-me-down's and are just perfect for Christmas. 

Christmas morning we read the real Christmas story from the bible before we began opening gifts. Amariah listened on her playmat. Jotham had fun choosing who should open gifts next and handing them out. Jotham even surprised Daddy with a Captain America clock he picked for him at the school store.

Amariah loved her first gift - a bear from Uncle Jeremy, she was all ready to eat it. In the afternoon we played Jotham's angry birds game where you really launch the bird to knock things down. Trickier than you'd think. Amariah watched from her high chair which she was trying out for the first time. Amariah also had some playtime on our first Christmas blanket which Jotham was given 5 years ago (from the Blocks).

There's no pictures of it, but we had friends join us for supper on Christmas. Waylon made short ribs, candied yams and carrots, twice baked potatoes and cranberry coleslaw, I did the yorkshire pudding and Ryan and Heather brought ice cream cake for dessert. It was a delicious meal and we had a great time hanging out together.

The kids cuddling the next day (Jotham may still be in his same jammies from two nights earlier). He's built 3 of his 5 new lego sets already. Amariah playing with her new bunny blanket. Playing this morning and having some more cuddles, Jotham often asks to hold Amariah. This afternoon I had put Amariah on her mat and went to do something, when I came back I found them together, Jotham "reading" her a story - so precious.

So that was our Christmas..... looking forward to a few more days of family time...
