Summer Fun

We've been keeping busy the last month enjoying the warm weather and continuing to hide from storms when they come. Thankfully they've stayed a way the last couple weeks but we had some big ones at the end of June and early July. Now we've been hiding from the humidity and heat. Here's a little bit of what we've been up to.

We've been playing baseball, Jotham and I had played for at least half an hour that morning but he wanted to play again so Daddy joined him. Playing in the sand and yard late one afternoon when it wasn't so hot out.
Baby bump at 33 weeks.
Going for a bike ride one evening. Jotham's still a little small for the bike but he's getting the hang of it. One of the daycares had a fundraiser so we went out to join the fun. Jotham fed the horse (and donkey's) and later got to ride the horse. We enjoyed some bbq'd hotdogs and got his arm painted.
Later that day we went out to the beach with some friends. Lightning Girl thought it was a good idea to see how the sand tasted, must have been good since she wanted more. Jotham had lots of fun playing in the water with Daddy and later I helped him build a sand castle. He then joined Daddy for a rest.
We went to the park Canada day BBQ. We enjoyed free food - hotdogs, snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy, had some fun in the pool, got another dinosaur painted on him (this time on his face) and tried out the slip and slide. Later in the week (while Daddy was away all week) Jotham and I went to the Co-op's kids carnival. He loved going on the bouncy house slide's and he played lots of games like racing in a sack, hockey (he scored each time), basketball, balancing games and more. It was fun. And then he got to choose some fun prizes.

We've also been going to the playparks for the craft time's in the morning and sometimes to swimming in the afternoon. One day there was a sand castle contest and Jotham won. He may also have been the only one who made a castle that morning, it was nice that Daddy was there to help him. Jotham licking the crumbs out of the chip bowl, it was Daddy's suggestion. Having fun with Daddy at a night swim at our playpark.
Last weekend we headed out to a farm of one of the church member's. Jotham had fun using his binoculars to see farther when we were having a tour of the property. We even found a bunny while walking back to the church (on their property) from the house. Jotham also found some sticks he thought made great antlers.

Waylon had been making a cape for Jotham and finished this week. The boys had fun dressing up and playing together. Jotham found a dragonfly one afternoon that spent a long time resting on our chair. He watched it for quite a while and thought we should take its picture. This week Waylon also re-shingled the roof on our garage with the help of a friend from church who had previously been a roofer. Waylon had only intended to borrow some tools (at the suggestion from someone else at church), but since he was off the same days offered to help and teach Waylon how to do things. Such a blessing to have people who are willing to help out.
 Baby bump at 36 weeks.
This week we also hosted a 5-day club at our house. It's kinda like a VBS program, but just one hour and the leaders come here to lead. We had 12 different kids throughout the week, some days just 3 kids and one day we had 8 or 9. It was fun to be able to be a part of. Jotham memorized a few verses and won some prizes from it.

So that's what's been keeping us busy...
