We've been busy around here, but I found some time to finish up the last post of our trip, and eventually I'll find time to update about what we've been up to lately. So on our last Saturday in BC we headed over to Waylon's cousins again (who lived super close to my parents place), and had a play date with the kids. Actually the men went out for brunch while the women stayed with the kids. They seemed to have fun playing, Jotham was intent on trying every toy he could, he cared more about the new toys than the new kids, though was excited for a real live Drew - the other Drew he knows is from a show he watches. In the afternoon my family all got together again. We went to a park first, the kids had lots of fun playing and running around together and we got some cute pictures of them. It was nice to get (almost) all of us together again.
On Sunday after hearing my Dad preach we went out for lunch with Kim and Colleen to ABC - such yummy food and good company of course. We then went with them to Mill Lake and walked around a bit and tried some of the playgrounds. Jotham was hoping for a pink park, but we never found one. We still had lots of fun. We then went over to the Blocks place and spent the rest of the afternoon and evening there. Jotham had fun with all the toys they found for him and had many books read to him. We had a great time visiting and playing games. On Monday we met April and Danny for brunch, it was so good to be able to see them again. The kids had fun playing and last pretty long for being at a restaurant. We then went to look around Toy Traders and another game store before heading over to Mission. We had a family supper and had fun seeing everyone one more time. On Tuesday Lindsay came out to Chilliwack and we went for walk along the Vedder. It was nice to get outside and have some sun, knowing we were going home to snow the next day. It was so good to see Lindz again. Jon, Ang and Lynnea were over for supper that night and we had another nice time together. When they were saying goodbye I had to steal Lynnea for a hug but then she gave me a huge hug, and I said she should give Uncle Waylon a hug. She went right over and while giving him a big hug said, "I really like you Uncle Waylon" - it was so precious.
We got up early on Wednesday and said goodbye to Grandpa (Dad), and then went to the airport. Jotham was being a pirate with Grandma before we said goodbye. Then after we went through security they sang songs and played games through the window. It was fun. After 3 or 4 hours on the plane - with a stop in the Edmonton airport where we had to take out our car seat just to put it back in the same plane 30 minutes later - we were driving home. Jotham was tired by then and had a good nap.
When we were about 5 minutes from home Jotham started crying. I asked what was wrong and he said, "I want to go back to March." Waylon and I both felt the same way. (Jotham had been calling the whole trip "march" - just in case you didn't know that.) We had a great time visiting everyone and have no idea when we'll be back. We got to see almost everyone we wanted to see. It's hard to find times that work for everyone, just because we were off and on vacation doesn't mean anyone else was. So that was our trip, and for a random fun fact Waylon won about 5 free coffees and a free donut while in BC, his odds were way better there than here. If nothing else we'll at least come to visit for more free Timmies...
