After two hours driving and 3 hours on the airplane we arrived in Abbotsford. We saw Grandma as we were walking in, and Jotham ran to her as soon as he could, it was precious. That evening we had supper with my parents and just settled in at their place since that's where we were staying most of the trip. Jotham and Grandma spent some time reading stories, he had quite the stack for her to read. On Saturday we had my brothers and their families over at my parents. It had been over 2 years since we'd all been together, it was fun to see all the kids together for the first time. We went for a couple walks and just enjoyed hanging out together.
On Sunday we were heading out to Vancouver to Tim and Char's but decided to make a quick stop in to see Chris and Nicole so Waylon could meet his niece Kivryn. We ended up going to church with them too and had lunch together and then continued on. Once in Vancouver we went for a walk to the park, we loved having weather that was nice for being outside in. The kids wanted to play hide and seek, so we taught Myra how we pretend to be different things like trees or flowers (the way we play out here). On our walk back Myra said to Waylon, "You're the greatest Uncle Waylon". The pictures of the kids doing art are from the next afternoon, as well as the kids watching a VeggieTales on Uncle Tim's iPhone. On Monday morning we went to the Aquarium. I had told Jotham we were going so he was very excited about going to see the Beluga. It was lots of fun seeing him excited about the different animals he was seeing. Below is the fish he picked, her name is Slippery Fish (though I thought it was Pinky but he tells me that's not right), apparently that's also his favourite part of the trip, finding Slippery Fish. He also seemed to enjoy the Beluga and Dolphin shows and seeing the sharks. The last picture is Jotham and Waylon pretending to be fish.
So that was the first few days of our trip. We had fun hanging out with Tim and Char and their kids. It was nice that this time we could just enjoy hanging out with them and not be thinking about if we were accepting a job or not. We played games, watched shows, ate yummy food and hung out with the kids.
Eventually I'll tell you more about our trip...
