Jotham's Birthday

Jotham's birthday began as most Sunday mornings do. He watched a couple shows before he chose his birthday breakfast - toast, strawberries and a juice box that was leftover from the party. He often goes to Sunday school but we were having a relaxed morning and weren't ready so Daddy went to his class while Jotham tried out some of his new toys. After church and a lunch of leftover pizza, Jotham got to skip his nap and open his gifts from us and then we spent the afternoon trying out his new play dough toys and just being together. Daddy had hurt his back at work so he spent lots of the afternoon lying on the couch since the doctor wasn't in until 4. Jotham watched one of his new Sid the Science Kid episodes with Daddy, who as you can see was napping. Jotham didn't want to take a picture with us, that's why we were pouting at him.
Daddy got back in time for us to sing happy birthday to Jotham. Daddy then had to head off to youth, but Jotham and I enjoyed sharing a  piece of cake. We later did some hand and foot prints and then watched some more of the Science Kid.
Jotham's birthday gifts have been coming in the last week and this week (and we're still waiting for one that Grandma sent which should have arrived in time but got lost in the mail). So here he is opening up one from Oma and Opa, and from Uncle Jon, Auntie Angela and Lynnea, Jotham thought the beads were "fantastical" .
This year the snow waited until after Jotham's birthday to arrive, which was very nice. We didn't get out to play in it since it was crazy windy and stormy and then just wet and slushy but Jotham has taken every opportunity he can find to walk through it. And the next day no one had walked through his footprints so we even got these pictures of it. Jotham was disappointed all the snow melted off his trike before he could wash it off with his gloves, so he's already waiting for the next snowfall.
Stay tuned for next time and picture of our pumpkin and halloween fun...
