the end of August

The last couple weeks of August were filled with packing in case of moving, getting ready for our trip and the usual trips to the park and toddler time, and some art or music or games of hide and seek or dressing up like a robot.
Jotham showing his drumming skills.
We also took a trip down to Minot and went to the Zoo. Jotham was very excited and even though we woke him up at 6:30am he still stayed awake (and happy)  for our 2 hour drive. We had a fun time at the zoo, and saw everything in an hour, we then looked at our favourite things again a bit slower. It is a small zoo and we're not the type to sit and watch an animal for a long time. Even Jotham's ready to go look at something else after a quick look at them.
Feeding a goat.
After the zoo we had lunch at Pizza Ranch, which we highly recommend, and then off to the mall for some quick shopping and of course Cold Stone Ice Cream. Jotham was very excited about his ice cream cone. We thought he would sleep on the drive home since he'd been so tired while shopping, but he didn't, instead him and Waylon played silly games the whole way home while I drove. Waylon's much better at entertaining him in a car than I am, so I didn't mind driving (surprising I know, but I don't mind driving when there is NO traffic). That's Jotham hiding under Waylon's jacket, pretending it was his blanket. Last week Jotham had a play date with his friend Julia, he's crawling through a tunnel in the one picture and the other they were pretending to sleep. We also had supper at a friends one evening, Jotham and Jordan have started to play together a bit more each time we visit.
So, that's the rest of August before we left on our trip, which we'll fill you in on the details another time...
