Right, so we were in BC for an entire week at the end of August and beginning of September, and we realize most of you didn't see us. (Assuming at least its not just immediate family reading this). We were there for Waylon to candidate at a church for a youth pastor position, and for various reasons we chose not to take the position. Its a great church and they welcomed us and we enjoyed getting to know the youth and leaders, and though the job was offered to Waylon it wasn't the best fit for our family. So, that's all I'm going to say about that. We did get a chance to see our families and a few friends amidst all the busyness, which was great.
These pictures are from a park near where we stayed in Vancouver, and from Spanish Banks where we spent an evening with the youth. We had a lot of fun that evening, Jotham loved playing in the sand and though it wasn't a great day to go in the water we did get near it. I enjoyed seeing the mountains, it was very pretty there.
Jotham's first time touching the ocean.
After the weekend was over we went to stay with Tim and Charlotte at their new place in Vancouver. It was so nice to see them and hang out. We finally got to meet Isaiah (we actually ran into them at the beach so that was our first official meeting). Staying with them was great, we really enjoyed it. Jotham still asks to go to Myra's house at least once a day. My vintage friend Crystal was down from Kamloops so she came by for a visit, it was so good to see her. We miss her like blazes. Waylon's family also came out to the city to see us, we went to Queen Elizabeth Park, and since there was no playground we found a fountain to entertain the kids in. Other people were already playing in it and it looked like a lot of fun. Jotham and Nadiya loved it.

I thought there were extra clothes for Jotham in his backpack but discovered while changing him that we'd used the shirt that had been in there. Thankfully, Nadiya had a sweater he could borrow - he really liked it. After that we had a picnic supper and played on the grass.
The bottom two pictures are with Alyssa, we got to visit her and Anita before they left for the Yukon, we'll have to compare our winters in a few weeks and see who gets the cold first, though they may already be winning that.
Our next stop was Sardis to visit Jon, Ang and Lynnea. We got a tutu for Lynnea for her birthday, this was the first time we got to see it. Lynnea's not too sure about it so we put it on Jotham first, then she tried it on for the first time. I think its so cute, but I did pick it out so I'm probably biased. Grandpa and Grandma were there too and so was Grandpa Friesen (aka Frozen Grandpa). It was great to see everyone, but also much too short a visit.
Our last day we stayed home, since we'd done enough driving around the day before and had a day of traveling the next day. April came out with Avery and Josiah, we had lots of fun but forgot to take pictures. That evening we had a photo shoot with the kids, who then also wanted to take a few pictures.
The day after we arrived home, Waylon got a phone call from a guy at our church offering him a full time job with his company. We're now onto his second week of work, which has been great. Since we're staying here for now Jotham is in his music class again, we started last week. He's most excited that his friend Julia is in the class, he told me that's the why he wants to go, just to see her.
We'll continue to seek where God is leading us and trust that we made the right decision while in BC. Hopefully the next time we're in the valley we'll have an opportunity to visit more of you. That's all for today...
