We heard the Holiday Train was coming to town last Friday, and though we had no idea what we were really going to we figured we'd check it out.
Here's the train.
Checking out the lights on the cars.
Here we are waiting in the cold for some unexpected fun.
We didn't know what was hiding in this car, but we knew there was something cause everyone was crowding around.
But we were not expecting this:
Jotham did not like it at all, as you heard by his screaming and crying. I can't really say I blame him, but I did find his reaction very funny. Poor little boy. He was ok standing by the cars in the back and then we asked if he wanted to go look at the train more and see the lights, he liked that idea. We told him we'd go look at the engine, just like Thomas the train, but once we got there this was how he felt about it. I love Waylon's expression in this one too.
He calmed down as Waylon talked to him more about the train and as we walked back to our car he was content to look at the lights.
No more crying. (which is good cause the tears were probably freezing to his face)
As we were walking back to the car we saw Santa was giving candy canes to the kids, so Jotham and Waylon went to get one. That was Jotham's highlight of this adventure. We went back to the car and listened to the band play, thankfully there was no more rapping Santa. The music was actually alright after the first song.
This is one of Jotham's favourite Christmas stories, so we thought we'd share it with you. (Oh and its a mirror image, couldn't figure out how to switch that from photobooth.)
So that's us this week so far...
