Dinosaurs and Who Do's?

Last weekend we trekked out to Drumheller, AB where we met up with Waylon's family. We had a memorial service for Waylon's Opa and also some time to visit as a family. Jotham did an excellent job traveling in the car for a 10 hour trip each way. We got up bright and early Friday morning and were on the road by 6:45. We only made 4 stops and Jotham only got out twice, which I think is pretty good for traveling with a 18 month old. He only complained on they way there for maybe 20 minutes, the rest of the time he was happy playing or sleeping. 

We arrived at our hotel and Jotham was excited to be free of his seat and thought the king size bed was an excellent play place with all the pillows he could jump on. That evening we visited with Oma and Opa, and stayed up late waiting for Chris and Nicole to arrive. Waylon was very excited to meet Nadiya who slept through her first kiss from Uncle Waylon.  On Saturday morning we celebrated Great-Opa's life and had a chance to meet some of Waylon's extended family. In the afternoon we headed out to the dinosaur museum. It was fun, Jotham enjoyed looking around at things.
This was probably Jotham's favourite part, he really loves bubbles, and it made a great backdrop for cute pictures of him and Abby.  
Here we are checking out more museum stuff and riding on little dinosaurs or some creature. We went to the garden area last, and it was the nicest part I thought and there was a bench perfect for taking pictures.
We had to of course have pictures of the cousins together. And also of Uncle Waylon with Nadiya. 
We headed out of Drumheller on Sunday morning and went past the Hoo Doo's. Jotham and Waylon were pretending to be a hoo doo in the first picture. 
We drove to Medicine Hat and stayed there so that we didn't have to do the whole trip again in one day. It was nice to split up the drive that way. We also stopped by the worlds or is it just canada's (???), whichever it is, the tallest teepee. There's a nice trail there too that we walked along and found some nice hills to walk up, and after walking only on flat land the last four months it was a good workout.  We left again on Monday morning and the bottom sign down there, though blury says "Chaplain - Salt of the Earth". We stopped here for gas on the way down and saw that sign and I wondered what that was all about, and Waylon looks to his left and sees this enormous mountain of salt.  It was everywhere, so we made sure to get a picture of the sign on the way home, we have lots of salt pictures too, but it really just looks like snow in the pictures, which since we're in SK is what you'd think we were showing you anyway. 
This is for Corner Gas fans. We drove through Rouleau and made sure to get pics of the important town features. Its only about an hour and a half away from us. 
So that was our trip. It was nice to see everyone and nice to get away. And we now know that Jotham's a pretty good traveller for car trips which is great. that's all for tonight...
