We decided to escape for a few days. Waylon didn't want to have rain while he was on vacation, so we checked the weather in various places to find a place to go. We settled on Moses Lake, which is about 5 hours south, near the Gorge Amphitheater. We got up bright and early Tuesday morning and began our drive. We hoped that Jotham would do better if he still needed to finish sleeping while we left. It worked pretty well. We got to Northbend, WA our first destinsation by 8:30, we were wanting to shop at the outlet malls, which didn't open until 10, so we had lots of time to find a place for a yummy breakfast. We found the things we wanted to buy, some stride rite shoes for Jotham, and looked around a bit and were on the road again by 11:30 which was prefect since Jotham was ready for a nap. There's lots of pictures, which I'm sure you mostly don't care about, but I'll tell you about them anyway.
I'm not actually sure where we are here, some where between Northbend, and before George, but as you can see we were all very excited.

Our suite in Moses Lake. This was a GREAT suite. Had all we needed for a couple days. We would definitely stay in this type of place again, just not in Moses Lake. The bedroom was a loft above the kitchen, you can see me and Jotham looking down into the living room. It was great being able to cook our own food in the tiny kitchen, and we had laundry which we even ended up needing to use.
Within the first 20 minutes of being there Jotham discovered the stairs. This is the result of that.
Hanging out on the couch after a trip to Walmart. We had checked out the town earlier, we were excited that we were right by the waterpark (which we planned to go to on our anniversary) and the grocery store and all the little shops.
The second day of our trip (our 7th anniversary), didn't go quite as planned. We discovered the waterpark was only going to be open in the evening from 4-8, which was fine, we had other things to do. We checked out the sand dunes, and some parks by the lake. But it was much more of a boating lake and never found a swimming beach, but we were fine with that, cause like I said, there was the waterpark. We went for a walk along a trail in the afternoon, after some yummy icecream for a treat. Jotham was very sleepy and seemed to not be feeling great, but was doing ok. He fell asleep again just before 4 which was fine cause the waterpark was open until 8, or so they said. When we finally were able to go, at 6:30 (meaning they should have been open another hour and a half) they were closed, due to low attendance - how can we attend if you close early. So that was annoying. Jotham however was still not doing so well, he seemed very warm so we went back to Walmart to get him a souvenir, a thermometer. I was glad we did, cause the kid had a temp of 102.7. And he started shivering when he had a bath later, he had a rough night too, but he got special treatment and Daddy let Jotham have the bed with me and he slept on the little couch. It made it much easier cause Jotham had been having a hard time sleeping the night before too. The next day, we had thought of going to another waterpark depending on Jothams night, but because it wasn't great and he still had a fever, we continued on our way to Leavenworth. We had another great drive, with Jotham sleeping most of the way.

This is our room at the Enzian Inn. It was a great place to stay. We had a free round of golf at the putting course and they have an indoor and outdoor pool and hottub. We tried out the indoor ones for a little bit when Jotham seemed to be feeling better. We also had a really yummy breakfast included with our stay, with omelets made how you want them.
Jotham spent much of our time away with the thermometer under his arm. He does pretty good with it which is nice. Oh ya, we also had wireless internet everywhere we stayed, which made finding good places to eat much easier.

More of the town, it was really cool. Lots of little shops with expensive things that no one needs. However we did NEED some icecream (two days in a row), this was from Coldstone Creamery and it was soooooo yummy. I'd go back just for that.

The first picture was while at supper, we had some yummy food, mine wasn't that exciting but Waylon's was yummy so I ate half of that. Jotham was then trying to figure out how to get out of his playpen. The last picture is after swimming/sitting in the hot tub and Jotham was all tuckered out. If only he'd stayed that way all night.
The next morning there was beautiful blue sky and it was sunny and warm. We would have loved to stay another day, but Jotham wasn't doing good once again, and as he likes to do on the last day of a trip, he threw up. So we knew it was time to go home. The drive back went well, Jotham slept the first half, and after stopping for lunch he slept the rest of the way. We managed to beat all the long weekend traffic, mostly cause it was headed the opposite direction of us. We were dissapointed to find pouring rain in Bellingham, considering we were still in our shorts, t-shirts and sandals. Thankfully the sun was out at home and Jotham's fever was gone. He had a great night last night. So who knows what was wrong, we've heard of a few options but they are all things that there's nothing to do for anyway. But he's eating again and playing and we're very thankful for that. So that was our attempt at a fun family vacation. Maybe next time Jotham won't be sick and we'll find a waterpark thats open.
