and so it begins

Another year has begun, and it would seem most people think its a time to look forward to what's ahead. I don't fit in that category, so far our year has nothing to look forward to, its a year of the unknown. Which some people may like, I however would like to know where Waylon will be working next, or if I'll work here for a bit while he stays home on EI with Jotham and looking for a new ministry to work with. So since I have no exciting things to look forward to that I can share with you, I'll tell you the last bit of our year and the first bit of the new year, in picture form of course. A box is a great hiding place, and hide and seek is one of Jotham's favourite games to play again. Trying out his new bath letters. Manitoba

Since none of us had ever been to Manitoba before, we figured we'd take the opportunity while we're here. After Waylon was done preaching on Sunday, we packed up after lunch and headed out. We were expecting a six hour drive to Winkler, but it was much quicker, under 5 hours. We almost made it to the Morden festival but apparently they don't like to have late nights in Morden and it ended at 6, we were all of 15 minutes too late, we were told to come back next year because apparently its great. We stayed with a former pastor of ours and friends of my parents in Winkler, we had a great time visiting with them and reconnecting. On Monday morning they took us on a driving tour of Winkler which is mostly churches. For lunch on Monday we headed over to Winkler Bible Camp to visit with some friends who have recently moved there, it was great to visit with them and see the camp. Weekends of Water

We've had a lot of fun this week spending lots of time outside and finding various forms of water to play in. I had wondered if there was a water park in town and after asking some moms in the nursery last Sunday discovered there was, so after nap time we headed out to find it. It's a small park, but so is Jotham, so there was plenty of water for him. When we first arrived he wanted to head over to the playground first, but as soon as he was in the water, he was content to play there. Other kids were playing there too (one we knew from church) and he joined them and borrowed some toys. As you can see, he wasn't afraid to go right into the water shooting up at him. It's kind of hard to tell in these next two pictures, but he's just standing there being showered by the water. After drying off and getting changed, we did go over to the playground for a while.
